Last month, our own Ruud Korver defended his thesis: ‘Going in the right direction: cellular mechanisms underlying halotropism’. In his thesis Ruud explains how plants are able to grow away from high salt concentration. He zoomed in on cells and visualized how hormone transporters changed location to make the root bend. We are happy to wish our brand new dr. Korver a lot of luck with his new direction, but we are going to miss his presence here in the lab.
