We are happy to announce that our research proposal on the root system of the potato plant has been granted by NWO. Our lab has become expert in analysing the root architecture of Arabidopsis, tomato and now we are expanding our interest to potato. We all know that potatoes grow under the ground, but have you ever wondered what the root system of this plant looks like? And how can changes in this root system help a plant produce more potatoes during salt stress or low nitrogen levels? We are planning to find that out in our new proposal; ‘Getting to the roots of stress resilience of potato plants’.
